Agoraphobia

We all have fears. Heights, spiders, snakes and creepy crawlies. Some people have a fear of flying. For some people, like me, they have a fear of going outside.

A Glasgow Kiss

I have been reading some pretty intense books recently, so I decided to switch to something fun and lighthearted. Opening up the Audible books on Amazon, I came across A Glasgow Kiss by Sophie Gravia. I had heard many good things about the book. An easy choice for me,

We meet the main character, Zara Smith, a trainee nurse who works part time at an aesthetics clinic in Glasgow, alongside her friends Ashley and Raj, The book follows Zara on her quest for love and romance. With a few bumps along the way.  She does have her eye on one man and we are taking along on a rollercoaster ride of will they wont they.  I won't go into the details of the story as I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

As someone from just outside Glasgow, it didn't take much to imagine the setting. I also found it easy to understand the crazy sense of humour each of each character. I have never laughed so much at a book. I lost count of the times I had to pause the story because I couldn't see through the tears from laughing. My husband thought I was crazy.  Well, he is right to be fair.

Every character is relatable. It was as if I was reading about my own friends and the madness we went through in our younger days. I loved all the characters but my favourites were Zara and Ashley. The reminded me so much of me and my bet friend, the times we supported each other during dodgy relationships and the heartbreak that followed. The gossiping and moaning about those who annoyed us most.

Everyone can relate to the characters.  We all have that one friend who is always on some crazy adventure.I can't recommend this book enough. It is a great read, perfect for reading by the pool or snuggled up on the sofa. You will laugh and enjoy every single second. I promise.

Lockdown - The Positives

Well, it is safe to say that 2020 has not worked out quite how we expected.  It has been a tough and very uncertain time for us all.  We have all read the various news reports and a lot of rumour.  It is easy to get lost in all the fear, so I have decided to write a nice, light and positive post about our time in lockdown.

A Weekend Away.

View from 7th floor.

I am so so sorry for not updating for a good few months. It has been hectic here between school events, James working, my uni and everything in between!!  We were lucky enough to go on a few holidays last year. As you know, I went to Cardiff in June and had a fantastic time. The day after I came back from that trip, the hubby booked us a weekend away to Cardiff for October, when the kids were away to Blackpool with their gran.  Here is what we got up to on our first weekend away together.

When Dreams Come True

The madness begins

Last year, after having a few bad weeks with panic attacks as I was triggered by two storylines on my favourite show, my husband promised to help put me back together again. I missed out on so much over a 5 year period. A time when I should have been living my life, seeing places and making memories, was miserable and hellish, but that's in the past. In August of last year, my husband booked me a trip to a place I thought I would never see - Cardiff
