What a busy week we have had!! Full of new experiences and fun shows. Mornings spent in the pool and night's spent watching shows and dancing. Haven Berwick holiday park is and always will be my favourite place to go (well I have been going there on and off for 28 years).
Friday 1st July, with the suitcase in my sister's car, James, the kids and I, headed for our train. It wasn't long before we got to Berwick and let's just say the kids were not the only one who were hyper! We met my parents and my aunt at our home for the week, a gorgeous caravan in a nice quiet part of the park. My sister and her boyfriend joined us later that evening. Our first night was spent at the complex playing some of the 2p machines with the kids.
The entertainment was fantastic, every night there was a show or event on that the kids (and big kids) wanted to go and see. We went to the wrestling, panto, musikids, Go live (every night) and Destination 90s to name a few. During the day we could go swimming then to one of the character events, Greedy's treasure hunt, Bradley's story time and Anxious' quiz time.
We also had the chance to watch the interactive animal show. The kids were taught about different animals and how the animals in the show (all rescues) were not meant to be kept as pets. They got to see a meerkat, barn owl, green winged macaw, skunk, corn snake and a fox. An hour of wonderful and incredibly cute animals, one of the best shows of the week!
On the Tuesday we took a walk into town to go exploring. I love Berwick, the town is just so beautiful and the people are really friendly. We took a walk through the park and down to the riverside. It is so peaceful down there you wouldn't think that the town centre was only 5 minutes away! Liam loves being down next to the river tweed as he gets to see the trains crossing the Royal Border bridge. Sophie likes it for the pretty flowers and the swans and other birds you see. On the Thursday we went for a lovely walk along the cliff tops. That is one of the things I love most about Berwick holiday park, the access to 2 beaches plus the stunning walks along the cliff tops. Beautiful scenery and fresh air really do make you feel good.
All too soon it was Friday and we were heading home. We had time to have a lovely breakfast in the Brigs of Tweed restaurant before heading for the train, and a last photo opportunity before we went.
really hope we get to go again next year and make even more memories that will last a lifetime.
We stayed at this park a couple of years ago for a long weekend. It's perfect for families as there is so much to do both on and off site. I'm glad you had a great time there.

ReplyDeleteIt is a great holiday park. It really is brilliant for the kids, so much for them to do. I have many happy memories of my holidays there as a child and now as an adult. x
DeleteLooks like a great family friendly short break
ReplyDeleteIt really is. 7 days is the perfect amount of time to do as much as possible.
