Sophie loves everything princess and fairytale just now so as you can imagine there are quite a few options out there, but we have a favourite series and today we have just read the new instalment of the Fairytale Hairdresser.
The Fairytale Hairdresser and the Sugar Plum Fairy, by Abie Longstaff and Lauren Beard, is the next story in the series and this means a whole new fun adventure.
"The Prince of the Land of Sweets has gone missing! Could the wicked Mouse King and Queen be to blame?"
As we settled down to read the book, Sophie got really excited to see the cover was bright and glittery, I admit I too love glitter its so cute! Throughout the book I could hear a lot of oohhss and aahhhs from my own little princess and she recognised some of the characters too. The funniest thing that happened was Sophie booing, she is quite the little drama queen! She was so into the book that I had to read it twice and then again at bedtime!
What I love most about this book is how it highlights the importance of being nice to your friends and by working together you can solve any problems that come your way. With Sophie being at nursery now, the book really did get the point of friendship across to her in a fun and cute way.
The illustrations through the book are colourful, eye catching and beautiful. Sophie said "they are pretty colours mummy" so the book as a whole got her seal of approval, and mines too!
I don't want to give too much away, and I honestly could talk all night about the book, so I can only suggest heading to Amazon and buying a copy by clicking here priced at £5.24.
I used to love reading with my children when they were little. The books are great for opening up conversations in an age appropriate way!
