A Craft Afternoon

With the weather being rather nasty at the moment between torrential rain and gale force winds it can be hard to keep the kids amused,  Days like that are a great opportunity to get out the arts and craft kits and have some fun.

Weekend box are a great craft club which send out a new art and craft activity box every fortnight.  My children loved the box we just received and couldn't wait to get started on the activities included.  So as it was a horrible wet afternoon, and I wanted them to calm down after an energetic day at school and nursery, I thought it was the perfect time to have some craft fun.

In this box:

Grow your own rainforest. I am looking forward to starting on this, which I plan on doing after Liam's birthday weekend. The instructions are written in a clear and simple way making it easy for everyone to follow.  All I need in addition to the items supplied is scissors and a plastic bottle.  I love that more or less everything is included for the kids.

This evening we made the parrot mask.  This was really simple to make and again with clear instructions the kids could follow it too. Liam and Sophie took turns in cutting (with supervision) out the shapes for the feathers and helped to stick them into place.  It only took 20 minutes to make the mask and the kids were only too happy to pose for a picture with their mask

If you would like to receive a weekend box you have a couple of options.  You can opt for the mini box which is fortnightly and priced at £4.95 per box (first box is £2.49).The mini boxed include 2 activities, access to videos of activities and an online club house.

You could also choose the bumper box which you can receive fortnightly or monthly and this is priced at £7.50 per box (first box £3.75) and you have access to the same videos etc as the mini box.

  10. Anything that gets kids enjoying something other than TV or games consoles is good money spent if you ask me.

  14. I love doing arts and crafts with my children, especially when the weather is like it is now, cold, windy and wet. It's great for keeping them entertained when you can't get out and about.
