KidloLand

With Sophie about to start school in August, we felt it was time to sit her down and really start focusing on phonics, numbers and other education activities.  Being 4, her attention span can only take so much information at a time, so we knew it had to be a fun way to keep her interest.

KidloLand is the perfect app to help keep her focused as it makes learning fun and gives the child a choice in what they want to learn that day. Sophie was very excited to find this app was just for her.

Here are the areas the app covers (quite a few screenshots coming up)

As you can see from the pictures above, there is plenty to choose from and to keep them busy.  Sophie's for choice, her favourite, was learn to trace. I downloaded each letter and sat with her as she traced out each letter on the phone. Next, I got a piece of paper and a pencil and encouraged her to write the letter down.  She done quite well with this and can spell her name no problem now too.

Next she tried numbers, selecting numbers 1-100, she can already count to 10. With this she counted to 30 no bother. At nursery they only go to 10 but, like her brother, Sophie is one for learning as much as possible.

After some hard work, we decided on the nursery rhyme section.  I loved this one the best! It was so cute to see her sing along. Sophie is quite a little diva and likes to perform, so you can imagine how this turned into more of a concert than just singing!! Oh, and yes she used the microphone that Santa brought her too.

We are still working our way through the other sections but Sophie absolutely loves it and asks for the app every day which is fantastic as far as I am concerned.

The KidloLand app will be showcased at the BETT Show 2017. BETT is one of the leading education trade shows in the world. This event will be held at ExCeL, London from 25th to 28th January, 2017. They  will be exhibiting at the BETT Futures section at the Stand no. 16.

They have also recently been awarded the Mom's Choice Award.

As a parent, I really do love this app and will continue to use it with Sophie even as she heads into Primary 1. Fantastic app.

The app is free and you can subscribe to the service for £18.99 for a 6 month subscription, that works out at just over £3 per month! Really great value for a wonderful educational app.

  2. My son is one for learning but I used an app with letter tracing with him and he really enjoyed it. I think it is because it feels more like a game than learning.
