Thrive (previously Help) founded by Consultant Psychiatrists and Psychologists from the UK, who have created clinically proven and evidence based apps to treat and prevent mental health conditions. I was more than happy to sign up to give the app a try. It can only help surely?
After signing up, I started on the step by step tasks that are set and you must complete these. I understand that may sound annoying to you but they are essential in helping you to relax and be more mindful which is so important when you are feeling anxious as it helps to calm.
You can set the amount of time for each task which puts you in control. As I worked through each task I could feel myself start to relax and I wasn't in an anxious state so for me that is a massive plus!
You get lovely messages of encouragement as you go along which I think is really nice as it encourages you to continue with the exercises.
I feel this app will really help those with anxiety and other mental health conditions get through a panic attack or to just help them relax before bed to help get a good nights sleep. I will certainly continue with this app. It is also a fantastic tool for those who may not be able to afford counselling, as we know that can be very expensive.
A word from the founders
The app is available on Apple and Android, type Be Stress Free into the app store. At £1.99 a month you are getting a great tool for an amazing price. You can also access the app online at http://www.feelstressfree.com/ (you will need to use Chrome or Firefox as it work faster than internet explorer)
My teenager suffers from anxiety so I will recomend this to her. One of her triggers is medical appointments so she really struggles with counselling etc - this may be helpful for her!
ReplyDeleteI can understand why the appointments are a trigger for her, I used to be the same. This app is great and it should really help her to make her appointments xx
DeleteThis is a lovely app that I must try as I'm really struggling at times with panic attacks. :)

It is great and has some wonderful and incredibly helpful techniques to help calm a panic attack x
DeleteOh that's interesting. I think an app to help guide you when you are caught in a panic situation would be useful. I've had a panic attack in the past and couldn't think straight at the time so this could have been useful - if I'd had the presence of mind to actually use it! For me I just had to 'get out of there' and use my deep breathing.
ReplyDeleteIt is really hard to think straight mid panic attack and the whole "im out of here" feeling becomes very strong. Not only does the app give you the tools to help during an attack, having the actual app as a focus takes your mind off things too x
DeleteOff to have a good look at this. I had CBT which really helped me
ReplyDeleteIt is a fantastic app and it will help so many people! CBT is a great therapy and if that helped this app will be good for you x
DeleteIt sounds really useful, I am glad its helping you, I like that it gives you encouragement! x
ReplyDeleteThank you :) It will help so many! x
