Petitioning The Scottish Parliament
As you may know, I had to go private to get my perimenopause diagnosis and access HRT. Trying to get my GP to listen was impossible. I was told I was too young but if I was 45 I would be given HRT without question (how does that make sense) Then I was told I would need a blood test to check hormone levels. This is when things got really ridiculous.

Studying With The Open University
I always felt like I had been missing out on something. I had been to college and studied Travel and Tourism for 3 years, graduating with a HND in 2001. Returned to college in 2008 to study Access to Social Sciences but something still didn't sit right with me. Fast forward to 2015, I signed up to The Open University.

Menopause
One day you are happily going about your business as normal and then all of a sudden you feel this rush of heat radiate throughout your body. You wonder if you are coming down with something but as quick as it came, the strange warmth has calmed down and everything is ok again. Have you considered it could be the start of perimenopause?
Agoraphobia
We all have fears. Heights, spiders, snakes and creepy crawlies. Some people have a fear of flying. For some people, like me, they have a fear of going outside.

A Glasgow Kiss
We meet the main character, Zara Smith, a trainee nurse who works part time at an aesthetics clinic in Glasgow, alongside her friends Ashley and Raj, The book follows Zara on her quest for love and romance. With a few bumps along the way. She does have her eye on one man and we are taking along on a rollercoaster ride of will they wont they. I won't go into the details of the story as I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
As someone from just outside Glasgow, it didn't take much to imagine the setting. I also found it easy to understand the crazy sense of humour each of each character. I have never laughed so much at a book. I lost count of the times I had to pause the story because I couldn't see through the tears from laughing. My husband thought I was crazy. Well, he is right to be fair.
Every character is relatable. It was as if I was reading about my own friends and the madness we went through in our younger days. I loved all the characters but my favourites were Zara and Ashley. The reminded me so much of me and my bet friend, the times we supported each other during dodgy relationships and the heartbreak that followed. The gossiping and moaning about those who annoyed us most.
Everyone can relate to the characters. We all have that one friend who is always on some crazy adventure.I can't recommend this book enough. It is a great read, perfect for reading by the pool or snuggled up on the sofa. You will laugh and enjoy every single second. I promise.
