Weekend Box - Fun For The Kids
As a parent I know how hard it can be to keep the kids amused when the weather is that bad you don't want to take them out. So they get fed up and tell you they are bored. I try all the usual ways to keep them amused, board games, their favourite DVD or story time. Now those little tricks don't work. You can imagine how delighted I was when the lovely people at Weekend Box asked me to try their little box of fun.
Seasonal Affective Disorder
Winter arrives and with it brings rain, gale force winds and snow. It also means it gets darker earlier and we don't get as much sunlight as we do during spring and summer. I have always felt a bit different when winter arrives but nothing that worries me as I am simply adjusting to the darker days and the temperatures. For some, however, winter brings more than just horrible weather it also brings Seasonal Affective Disorder into their daily routine.
MyBuddy Box
Storage is a massive issue in our flat. We don't have much cupboard space as we are in a 2 bedroom flat so we need to find other way to store the children's toys without there being a lot of mess and clutter. Some storage boxes and units can be expensive, massive and bulky. I have said before how I would love storage than can be folded away when it's not needed rather than taking up much needed space. Now I have found it - MyBuddy Box.
Tiny Tickers
When I was pregnant and attended my scans, like any other parent, I worried that they might find a problem. When I had pre-eclampsia when pregnant with my daughter I was scared she would be born early and with my son I was rushed into theatre for an emergency c section which was needed due to him being in distress. Thankfully both my children were ok, but for 3000 babies, each year, this is sadly not the case. These children are born with CHD
Songwriter Connect
I absolutely love music and think that life would be so so dull without it. Over the years I have often thought how it would be great if I could write my own music and hear the finished song being played on the radio but sadly I am not that talented but I do have a few friends who are amazing at writing music but find it hard, and expensive, to get the support they need to make their dreams happen. Well I have found the perfect platform that can help them and many of you continue with your song writing - Songwriter Connect.

Dance the weight away
As you know from a previous post I love to dance. I have even been known to shake my tooshie when out and about and that includes dancing in the aisles in Asda! People who know me will tell you that I was always a perfectionist when it came to learning a new routine so it was easy for me to forget about the fun element and the biggest thing of all, the exercise side of dance.

Please Note
I would like to say that I do not normally post about bad customer service but in the case I mentioned in So Angry I had to share as I did not want anyone else being so badly let down.
So angry
Recently I entered a Magners competition on the Blippar app on my phone. Let's just say this was a massive mistake.

Doing It Alone
Cheeky Asda Selfie |
For the last year the thought of going anywhere myself has really scared me. Places I have been going myself for years and know so well suddenly seem scary and unknown. Typical anxiety I know and that's what makes it more frustrating. Knowing the place itself is not scary, it's just my thoughts that are.

My Fragrant Little Trio
I have always been a lover of perfume. Over the years I have bought various brands from Calvin Klein to Dolce & Gabbana. As I got older I tend to stay with the same fragrances. Here are three of my all time favourites.

Eco Egg
How many times a month do you need to go out and buy more washing powder or capsules? Maybe 3 depending on the size of your family? Do you need to be careful about what you use on your skin and need to buy a more expensive brand? I know we go through bottles of washing liquid per month and I like non-bio as its gentle on our skin. It was costing us a fortune.
Proud Mummy
Me & Liam on his 1st day at school |
I don't post things like this very often but felt I had to share with you all.
Before leaving nursery in June, Liam was just starting to write his name. We were really proud of him for his good attempts. At nursery they had the freedom to do what they wanted so we knew he wasn't spending a lot of time sitting down to write, read or paint. Well what 4 year old would when they have a choice?!

Iron Maiden - A Fans Perspective.
I love music and think life would be dull without it. Some people like only one genre but I love a little bit of everything. My husband James loves Iron Maiden as do I. So I thought I would interview him about being a fan of one of the biggest bands in history.
Before I go into the interview, here are some facts about Iron Maiden.

My Dancing Days
When I was younger I fell in love with dancing. I'm pretty sure I begged my mum to let me join dance classes! At the time I must have been about 10 so a later starter considering most start aged 3.
I remember my leotard and my white jazz shoes. I love those shoes! I took part in disco and majorettes and took my exam in Disco, passing it with no problems. I also remember my first dance show. So much fun!! When I went to high school I gave up classes.

A Holiday Would Be Nice.
With all this wind, rain and snow I have been thinking how nice it would be to get away on holiday this year. The last holiday we had was back in 2012 so it has been a while.
For me it doesn't have to be a holiday abroad I am more than happy to go on a family holiday to a caravan park. Don't get me wrong I love going abroad and have been to Spain, Norway and Sweden, but with 2 young children it has to be somewhere that provides a lot of entertainment and does not include a stressful 3 hour flight.

Films I Love
We all have a list of our favourite films. Some of us may like comedies, romance or even a good old action movie. I have quite a mixed collection of DVDs and some may surprise you and others, well you will expect me to like them!
Here is a list of some of the films I love and recommend.
Frooty Tooty - Fresh fruit and Vegetables
I love buying fresh fruit and vegetables but I also know how expensive it can be. Yes you can buy frozen veg but to me it's not the same.
One day on Facebook, yes it can be useful at times, I came across a local company called Frooty Tooty and noticed many of my friends also liked the page so I had a look to see what they offered. This is what they offer, delivered straight to your door!
Food Challenges In Glasgow.
I have been watching Man V Food re-runs over the last couple of days, how could he eat all that food?, and it made me wonder how many restaurants offer a food challenge similar to what we see on TV. So I decided to have a look online to see what I could find in Glasgow.
Here is what I found.

Job Searching can be stressful
Job hunting is not easy and can be stressful at the best of times but with the current climate it's even harder. You might feel you are applying for everything and hearing nothing and that can knock your confidence and you start doubting yourself.

Try it yourself.
Have you ever wanted to start a blog but had no idea where to start or didn't feel confident enough? I was the same at first but I persevered and 11 months later I would be lost without it. So I have decided to give you some tips on starting your own blog.
Business as usual
Hello!
Sorry I have not posted much but with the festive season it was a busy time! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and you are all well?
We went out for Christmas dinner which was nice and my anxiety has been under control which was a nice Christmas present I have to say! Hopefully it continues like that! We had a quiet new year with the children going to bed before midnight. To me it is just another day I prefer Christmas!
