A Holiday Would Be Nice.

With all this wind, rain and snow I have been thinking how nice it would be to get away on holiday this year.  The last holiday we had was back in 2012 so it has been a while.

For me it doesn't have to be a holiday abroad I am more than happy to go on a family holiday to a caravan park.  Don't get me wrong I love going abroad and have been to Spain, Norway and Sweden, but with 2 young children it has to be somewhere that provides a lot of entertainment and does not include a stressful 3 hour flight.

Our last holiday was to Haven Craig Tara which is in Ayr, Scotland. My mother in law had a caravan on the park so we were lucky enough to go there a few times.  The children love it at Craig Tara as there is so much to do; swing park, beach, 2 swimming pools (we had access to the owners exclusive pool), amusements, massive soft play and kids entertainment day and night.

On our last visit we went for 7 days, we usually went for 4, and we took full advantage of everything the site had to offer.  We took the kids swimming a few times, played in the park, walked on the beach, took part in the craft activities and spent hours at the soft play.

We had an entertainment schedule which told us what shows were on and at what times.  On the Wednesday we went to see the wrestling. It was so much fun and we all had a fantastic time, Liam even got his programme signed.

There is plenty to see off-site too. One day we took the children next door to Heads of Ayr farm park. If you are in Ayr it really is worth visiting. The park has many different animals from Guinea pigs to Meerkats.  There is also an indoor soft play area, cafes and swing parks.

If you want to take a look around the shops you can take the bus, which runs a regular service, from just outside the reception into Ayr town centre.

If you don't fancy cooking, Craig Tara offers plenty of choice to suit any mood.  You can pick from the following; Burger King, Papa John's Pizza, Fish & Chip shop and The Brigs of Ayr family restaurant.

There really is something for everyone.  We are hoping to take the kids to Haven Berwick Upon Tweed this year,

Have you ever been to Haven? Where is your favourite place to go on holiday? Let us know!

i have only been on holiday once that was to devon when i was dating my ex many years ago, i have never been abroad though i used to want to but never had passport or money too. and now im scared of flying and would rather put my safety first and enjoy my self at home. if i did have another holiday it would have to be in the uk so i dont have to fly and have even more spending money.

    1. Aww flying is the safest mode of transport! I dont like flying but have flown to Spain 3 times and to Dublin. When I went to Norway & Sweden it was a mini cruise. There are plenty of amazing places in the UK to visit for a holiday xx

  2. I think I'd love Craig Tara too. Swimming is a lot of fun and I did it a lot at my last brief holiday to the Black Forest in Germany too. Would be fun to have access to the owners' only pool.
