When I took my own lunch into work with me, I always found my sandwiches got soggy for some reason. No matter what I wrapped them in or whatever the filling it always happened. If I wanted to take a proper meal in, like a pasta dish or salad, I had to carry a big Tupperware box which was bulky and, well, annoying really. I always wanted a lunchbox that happened different compartments so my lunch would still be tasty!
I came across Monbento after my sister sent me a picture of one of their boxes and I was lucky enough to receive a kids box from them to try. Excited was an understatement. Finally a box that had everything I had always wanted in a lunchbox! Different compartments!
When it arrived I couldn't wait to open it up and have a proper look. I am not disappointed. There was a great selection of nice bright colours so it made it hard to choose one! I opted for the "Banana" theme as I thought it was very appealing. When I opened up the actual box itself I was in for a pleasant surprise.
As you can see from the pictures above, the box has 2 smaller containers and underneath the second lid is a larger section. All the compartments are a great size. This means you could put your sandwiches at the bottom, cover them with the smaller lid and in the other 2 containers you could add fruits and other snacks. Another lunch idea could be something like Sweet and Sour chicken, put the sauce in one of the smaller containers, chicken in the other and the rice at the bottom. The options are endless. The box is also microwavable, how fantastic is that! Here are some more of the characteristics
- Food grade
- BPA free
- Airtight
- Microwave safe containers
- Freezer safe
- Dishwasher safe
As this box is for children, it has a little fun element which gives kids the chance to customise the box to suit their mood. There are 5 small discs, each containing a different design, which they can easily change. My favourite is the star.
There was also a little booklet inside the box which contains fun recipe and ideas like salmon nuggets, fruit ice lollies and even how to create your own vegetable garden!
I love the Monbento box, it is fun, appealing and the best lunchbox I have ever seen.
You can purchase your own Monbento box here. The box I have costs £16 which I think is a bargain for such a great product.
That looks like a great idea! I agree, I often need to pack things in different containers - this would be the perfect solution!
