Last Sunday Sophie and I went out for a girly lunch with my mum and sister Claire. James and Liam had been to the Scottish Cup final on the Saturday so a girls day was most definitely in order. We went to a beautiful little tearoom - Cafe Vanilla.
It was the first time we had visited the tearoom and when we walking in the door we could tell it was a very popular place as we had to wait 15 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait though. Once we were seated and we had placed our order, I took in my surroundings and noticed the beautiful decor.
Our sandwiches arrived, I was too hungry to take pictures of them!, and oh my word they were massive. The bread was soft and fresh and there was plenty of filling in each, and a beautiful side salad too. How I managed to eat all of mines is beyond me but I would do it again! I had tuna mayonnaise, my mum had chicken with cranberry sauce (real chicken pieces) and Claire had cheese and coleslaw. Sophie had a bit of each sandwich which she enjoyed.
Then along came our cakes. We all ordered a slice of the Victoria sponge, which was homemade, Sophie ate hers, we asked to take ours home as we were all full after a lovely lunch. After our lunch we went to the local shopping centre for a walk around and then we headed home. We all had such a lovely day out and I look forward to visiting Cafe Vanilla again in the future and thanks to my dad for sending us to lunch.
