Bocadillo Bistro

When I am in Glasgow I like to find new places to go for a bite to eat.  It is all too easy to fall into the trap of the fast food restaurants that are on more or less every street.  Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with them but I prefer a place where I can sit and relax, where the atmosphere is friendly and the food it, well, tasty!

When looking online for somewhere different to try the next time I'm in town I came across the Bocadillo Bistro which is situated on Sauchiehall Street.  I headed to their Facebook page to have more of a nosey.  The first thing that grabbed my attention was the decor.  It seems warm, inviting and comfortable, I can see me having a nice relaxing lunch there!.

Haggis Scotch Eggs with a homemade Arran mustard

The next thing I had a look at was their menu,   Everything sounds so delicious and quite a few of the dishes, which I haven't tried before, caught my eye.  There is something for everyone!  They offer a pre-theatre menu which offers incredible meals for a fantastic price!  You can see the menu below.

About The Bocadillo Bistro
Coffee shop opens 7am till 5pm Monday - Friday and the Bistro opens Thu to Sat 4- 10.30.

My two daughters worked for Bocadillo Hillington Debbie and Lindsay. When the then owners put it up for sale the family decided to take a chance and take it over. That was a couple of years ago. The owners had opened another coffee shop in Sauchiehall Street, they decided to sell about 18 months ago and we bit the bullet again and took it over. Its been very hard work for the girls. They put in for a drink licence which came through at the end of last year. It was then they decided to go for the Bistro at night. They have an amazing team who work hard every day! Jo
